Ettington Park Hotel Ettington is an immense gothic pile just outside Stratford with the ruins of a 12th century church in its grounds and tales of ghostly goings-on within its ornate historic walls. But it doesn't just have to be for American tourists. A fair share of celebrity guests stay here (the NEC isn't far) too and it's perfect for the country house hotel-loving crowd. The large grounds. patrolled by peacocks. are delightful; there are tables on the terrace so you can enjoy a sunlit gin and tonic on a lovely evening or perhaps a leisurely sunny lunch. Service is careful and polite and the food on offer in the formal. rather hushed dining room is cooking in the grand hotel style - generally textbook. gracious stuff. elaborately presented and designed as much to fulfil expectations as to tickle the tastebuds. Prices match the grandeur of the building. Food: Fine Dining Not ![]() |
