CathayThis oriental restaurant is a stunner - both in strikingly modern looks and in cuisine. Half of the menu in this pale wood. stylish eaterie is zippily fresh. luxurious but quite straightforward fare - predominantly fish and seafood but with some meat and poultry thrown in. The other half - the "specialist vegetarian food" - is positively bewildering. Here we have veggie dishes. made from presumably some sort of oriental Quorn. that exactly ape carnivorous classics - there are veggie king prawns. Vietnamese pork. Cathay duck. shark fin soup ... the list is enormous (nine starters. four entrees. 13 main courses). The non-veggie dishes seem guaranteed to please but the vegetarian jury's still out on their "So" counterparts. An all-you-can-eat buffet style now dominates.
