Ambitions are high at this swish bar and bistro whose name arose presumably from its close proximity to the Hippodrome's dance studios just across the street.

 Perfectly placed. then. for the theatre and very impressive to look at too. all smart lilac and purple. and very comfortable.

 The food keeps things simple with brasserie-style classics and the pretty upstairs room (formerly the main restaurant) is now available for private functions.
