House of Fraser In House BarHouse of Fraser is so cool these days that you'd almost expect it to have its own bar - and sure enough. it does. The In-House Bar is a youthful. urban hideaway on the first floor. A smart chocolate and off-white colour scheme provides the perfect calming backdrop for some stylish touches. There's the long. sleek. illuminated bar. dark wooden floor and. as well as the natty tub-style leather seating. there are wacky chairs with backs so tall and arched they dwarf those sitting on them. Lots of lamps give it an almost clubby feel but the sights and sounds of MTV projected on to the wall behind the bar leave you in no doubt what century you're in. The food is fittingly young. simple and no-nonsense. There's grazing food - 'nibble plates' of artichoke hearts. pretzels. kettle chips and olives for instance - as well as stylish sandwiches and brunch dishes. If that doesn't hit the spot. there are main courses too. offering easy-eating options such as a classic burger or salad of chargrilled chicken with avocado and bacon. As it's licensed. there are restrictions on when children can go in. Food: Traditional Not
