One of a small chain. Thai Orchid's Birmingham branch is housed in a former bank down a sedate city centre side street.
 Brightly-coloured floral plaques are interspersed among the old wooden panelling. oriental statues stand guard beneath the high windows and pots of trailing greenery dangle from the ceiling.
 But it's the food that's pulling in the punters.

 Quality and variety is good - whether you're choosing from a lunchtime all-you-can-eat buffet or the a la carte.
 Service is very friendly and it's good value. Well-placed too for business lunches.
