Not many venues will suggest that you limbo from the bar into the restaurant but they do at Xaymaca. It is then. a bit of a party place. friendly. laidback. a little bit of Jamaica on the mean streets of Brum.

The menu offers a contemporary version of Caribbean cuisine but if traditional stuff is what you're after. it's certainly here. with goat curries and ackee and saltfish among the pepperpot soups. calaloo and plantain. cassava and yam.
