Zafroni only arrived in Birmingham in early summer 2004 but quickly won fans for its stunningly modern decor and quality. great value food.

Those who know the original Zafroni in Cannock will have an idea of what to expect. Stylish surroundings and upmarket ambitions are the order of the day.

Happily. the food - described as Indian and eastern - doesn't let the side down. Ignore the rather naff attempts at poshness (the star fruit and strawberry garnishes with the starters. the silver domes on the main courses) and enjoy solidly good dishes. whether excellent fresh pakora or succulently spicy chicken tikka palak.

Prices compare favourably with suburban high street Indian restaurants but the quality is far better. Certainly worth venturing into the suits quarter for.
