We discovered this pub while staying in the area and looking for somewhere to eat with our two children on a Monday evening. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals which were well cooked and very nicely presented. The staff were really welcoming and we would certainly eat here again the next time we are in the area.

Went for Sunday lunch based on recommendation from a friend. Two of us chose the roast lamb and the third had tuna mayonnaise. All I will say is that I wish we'd had the tuna! After complaining about the tough lamb, one of the meals was exchanged but it took a bit of effort on our part to persuade the management the meal wasn't up to the standard that we had been expecting. Constructive criticism? Please don't offer to cut up the customer's meat yourself because that is just patronising. Another tip - change your butcher.

Very friendly service in a lovely location. I had the steak and ale pie which was amazing - the meat had been cooked slowly and was by far the best and most tenderset meat I've had in a long time. Presentation was also excellent!
