Orange Tree

The Orange Tree, Chadwick End - It's Warwickshire. It's gorgeously trendy, the menu has "eat me" written all over it and the staff are young and beautiful ... it could only be another Paul Salisbury/Paul Hales pub.

Like its siblings, this addition to the family also displays that happy knack of making you feel good just by being there. Cosy sofas, big chunky tables and chairs, lots of nice touches, it looks great and it's comfortable too. There's money round here and it shows but it's still cool.

It's the perfect setting for a stylishly-direct menu which offers food that's young and fun, simple but impressive. Pizzas from their wood fired oven, and pastas are all there as well as salads, duck confit, spit gammon and crushed potato, steaks and calves' liver. Not just any old chips here either but- Belgium fries which come with mayo, continental style. For more details visit their website.

Fantastic food (from a nice varied menu) and in a very nice environment. I would recommend The Orange Tree to anyone who enjoys high quality food.

Having not booked up for dinner, we thought it would be a wasted journey out to this lovely homely looking place in the sticks of Warwickshire.. but to our delight they seated us in the lower end of the restaurant, right next to a roaring wood fire - bliss! The food was divine and after placing our starters and mains order we were plied with the yummiest fresh rustic looking bread with oils to dunk into to keep our apetites at bay. Our waitress was very attentive and all staff seemed genuinely happy to be there; that made me feel very relaxed. The starters arrived and yum, heaven on a plate. The asparagus especially was just delicious. My husband had the gambas (prawns, it transpired!) with a delicious garlicky sauce, and couldn't stop the "mmmm" noises all the way through! For mains we had spaghetti carbonara (the most tasty I have ever eaten) and my husband opted for the steak burger, which was cooked to order and so huge he couldn't eat it like a normal burger - ha! As for deserts... try the chocolate fondant - that is honestly the best thing in the world! Prices were fine - a little more than say a pub in Knowle, but then the food and service made it worth every penny. The staff seem to have good knowledge of the foods served and which wines to recommend in accompaniment. Very impressive when they seem to have tons of staff there each night. Highly recommended!

Went last night (Thursday). Couldn't book a table but told us that they did waitress service in the bar. We arrived just after 7pm and the place was already filling up, By 7.30pm the place was full although if it hadn't been raining there would have been plenty of tables outside. Found a table with chairs that were a little low to sit at but the attentive waitress found some cushions which helped. The food was a little late in arriving so the waitress, who had come to apologise without us having to enquire, gave us a free drink. I found the food to be very good. My wife wasn't overly keen on the amount of cheese on her pizza but it tasted great and she doesn't like a lot of cheese! Oh and her green salad was a bit bitter. I had the cauliflower soup (excellent) and asparagus, poached egg with sauce which was delicious. Overall a very enjoyable bite with excellent service. Will go again but next time make sure we book a table.
