The duo behind the Punchbowl in Lapworth have branched out with this new venture in the pretty if aircraft-blighted village.

It's a modern and pretty impressive place (if a little rough round the edges decorwise) but it's trying hard to please in both service and food.

'Bites or not' is how they describe the starter selection. which can be mixed together tapas-style. It's a global selection. from salmon sushi to cod fritters. falafel. chicken satay and onion bhajis.

There's a similar mix on the mains. from crispy duck to lamb keftico (or the Moroccan version kalaftico with couscous as it's called here).

All very pleasant and nicely buzzy.
