Floodgates BrasserieFloodgates is the relaxed sibling to the fine dining of the Castle House hotel (see separate entry). Both are owned by. and the brainchild of. Dr Albert Heijn. a fabulously wealthy Dutch guy whose own estate in Hereford provides the livestock which ends up on all the menus. Floodgates is part of the Left Bank village. a modern block right on the banks of the Wye which also houses decent food shops. a cafe and bar. If the weather is fine. grab a table outside. whether just for a coffee or a chunky club sandwich or a hearty meal.
