Bell at Tanworth A traditional village pub (and what a village - it's gorgeous) has been turned into a show-stopping gastro venture by a guy with an excellent local foodie pedigree - he launched Primitivo in Birmingham and West One in Hagley.  It looks good and by golly. the food's good too - and served in generous portions.  There are some delicious global goodies here. from Arabic mezze (wonderful dips) with Egyptian bread and seared Scottish scallops with chorizo to hefty lamb shank with mint jus and champ potato. Michelin list this in their top 500 food pubs and The Independent reckon it's one of the best 50 pubs in Britain. The Bell also has a great little deli which is also home othe village post office!  See original Birmingham Post review by clicking above Food: Traditional Fine Dining European Pub/Bar Speciality Average Main Course: £10-17 House Wine: £11 Food Serving Times: 12-2pm & 6.30-9pm Dining Spaces: 50 Awards: One of the 50 best British Pubs" (Independent January 2006) ![]() Rating
