The Elms Hotel and Spa, Abberley Worcestershire

Top 100 UK Restaurant

Accredited as one of the "Top 100 UK Restaurants" (by Restaurant magazine) The Restaurant at The Elms, has been nominated as the only restaurant in the area that reaches the high standards demanded by the nomination, amongst stiff competition with the likes of Gordon Ramsey and Jamie Oliver in the running. The restaurant is overseen by accredited Head Chef Daren Bale, who has also achieved much National and Local acclaim, including 2AA Rosettes, and their AA Strawberry Award, which is only accredited to restaurants who source more than 50% of their produce from the region.

Fully Refurbished

Recently fully refurbished to the highest standards, The Elms Hotel & Spa, offers award winning fine dining, sumptuous bedrooms, and absolute relaxation in their Aqua Sulis state of the art Spa. Set in picturesque rural Abberley, in the heart Worcestershire, with fabulous views across the Teme Valley.

Proud to source at least 50% of their produce locally, Head Chef Daren Bale has now gone a step further and has recently undertaken making his own goats cheese. Over-seen by the Countess of Mar at "Mar Goats" in Great Witley, he has created "Delicatus., Now available on their award winning cheeseboard.

Daren Bale Added "With the extensive improvements we have certainly been able to broaden our menu range. Alongside the a la carte dining, our Brasserie style menu in the Pear Terrace has also been popular."

Daren has recently even begun making his own goats cheese, which is made "next door" in Great Witley, where the Countess of Mar, produces the cheese with her "Mars Goats" now assisted by Daren and his team.

Daren's new cheese is called "Delicatus" Goats Cheese (Latin for Delicacy) and the first batches have been maturing for over 4 months and is now available on their Award Winning cheese board.

Daren concluded "I am passionate about local and regional produce, and often visit the regions producers to try their latest creations, and if they make the grade I work with my team to include them in our selection of dishes, the opportunity to assist in the goats cheese production, was an extension to this opportunity. It has been a real challenge and great fun."

The Elms was also included in this Autumn's prestigious finals of the "Conde Nast Johansens Most Excellent Family Hotel Award."
